About the Book

Eternal Memory (永遠の記憶, Eikyū no Kioku) is the sixth and final Detective Galileo novel, and the 106th and final work by Keigo Higashino. The novel brings the story of Professor Manabu Yukawa — Detective Galileo — to a close in what his publisher calls "a masterful conclusion that only Higashino could have written."

The novel centers on a mystery involving memory itself: a scientist working on cutting-edge memory preservation technology dies under suspicious circumstances, and Galileo must confront the question of what it truly means to remember — and what we choose to forget.

Series Background

The Detective Galileo series (Professor Manabu Yukawa) began in 2005 with The Devotion of Suspect X, which won the Naoki Prize and became an international sensation. Over five novels and numerous short stories, Yukawa evolved from a cold, logical genius to a more compassionate figure who understands that the heart has its own reasons that reason cannot always know.
